Dead inventory is a cost. Recover it.
Overstock, discontinued lines, returns you cannot sell as new, stock with a shrinking shelf window, and the leftovers from a minimum order run tie up warehouse space and get written down, dumped to liquidators for pennies, or destroyed. CheckoutFirst gives that inventory a second channel: the makers exchange for scent, skin, and home, where independent perfumers, candle makers, soapers, and skincare formulators buy in the small quantities your retail and wholesale channels are not built to serve.
It is a separate channel from your storefront. It does not touch your MSRP, your wholesale price list, or your retail customers, and you price every listing yourself.
What you can offload
- Overstock: Excess production and raw materials you ordered in surplus, sitting past their turn window
- Discontinued lines: Retired fragrance oils, colorants, and formulas that makers actively hunt for once they leave your catalog
- Returns: Customer returns and lightly handled stock you cannot sell as new
- Short shelf life: Materials with a shrinking shelf window that still have real working life for a maker
- Packaging remainders: Discontinued bottles, jars, caps, pumps, and molds, plus the leftover count from a minimum order run
How it works
You list and manage everything yourself, the same simple flow as every seller on CheckoutFirst. No monthly fee, no approval queue, no minimums.
- Create your account. Sign up with your email in a couple of minutes and connect Stripe to receive payouts. No credit card required to start.
- List your items. Add photos, a description, your price, quantity, and shipping. Each listing takes a few minutes, and you can mark items as overstock or destash so they surface in destash browsing.
- Get discovered. Your listings reach makers browsing by category and searching for exactly these materials. Share your listing links anywhere else you like too.
- Fulfill and get paid. When a sale comes in you get an email with the order details. You pack and ship, and Stripe settles the payment to your balance.
Why makers are the right buyers
Liquidators pay pennies and resell to no one who values the product. Makers do. They want small quantities of quality materials, they know your brands, and a discontinued oil or a retired bottle is a find for them rather than a markdown. You recover more than a jobber lot would give you, without training your own retail customers to wait for a clearance sale.
Today's buyer is tomorrow's wholesale account
This is where your next customers start. The makers who discover you on CheckoutFirst are building product lines, and the ones who find your materials here come back for them. As they grow, they order in volume and buy direct from your own website and wholesale channels. A clearance listing quietly becomes a customer acquisition channel aimed at exactly the audience you want to grow with.
It stays separate from your brand and channel
A separate marketplace, not your storefront. Your MSRP and wholesale pricing stay untouched, your retail customers never see it, you price every listing yourself, and you can list under a neutral overstock label if you prefer. No exclusivity, no monthly fee, cancel anytime.
Fees
You are on the same simple pricing as every CheckoutFirst account. No special contract, no listing fees, no subscription, no setup cost. You pay only when an item sells.
| Channel | Platform fee | Processing |
|---|---|---|
| Direct sale (a buyer you send) | 10% | + $0.30 |
| Marketplace discovered | 15% | + $0.30 |
Start small
List a handful of discontinued or overstock items and see what they recover. There is no minimum, no contract, and no monthly fee, so a short test costs you nothing but a few minutes.
