CheckoutFirst

The short version

What this page covers in plain terms.

TL;DR

We use cookies to keep you logged in and to understand how the site is used.

Last updated April 23, 2026.

CheckoutFirst uses a small number of cookies and similar browser storage tools. Most are required for the site to work at all. We also use Google Analytics and Firebase Analytics to understand how people use the platform, which helps us improve it. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not share your data with ad networks.

What are cookies

A quick explanation of what cookies are and how they work.

Background

Cookies are small files stored in your browser.

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They let the site remember things like whether you are logged in or which items you browsed. Some cookies are deleted when you close your browser (session cookies). Others stay until they expire or you delete them (persistent cookies).

We also use localStorage, a similar browser feature that stores data locally on your device without sending it to a server on every request.

Cookies we use

A breakdown of each cookie type and why it is set.

Sections 1 – 3

We use three categories of cookies: essential, functional, and analytics.

1. Essential cookies (required)

These cookies are necessary for the site to function. You cannot turn them off without breaking core features like logging in.

  • Firebase Authentication session token: Set when you sign in. Keeps you logged in while you use the site. Expires when your session ends or after a standard inactivity period.
  • CSRF / security tokens: Short-lived tokens used to protect form submissions and API requests from cross-site attacks.

2. Functional storage (localStorage)

We use your browser's localStorage to save your preferences and in-progress work on the device itself, without sending this data to our servers.

  • Formula workspace state: Saves your current ingredient rows in the formula tools so they persist if you close or refresh the tab.
  • UI preferences: Things like which filters you last used in the marketplace.

3. Analytics cookies

We use analytics tools to understand how visitors use the platform. This helps us fix problems and improve features. See the Analytics section below for full details.

No advertising cookiesCheckoutFirst does not use cookies from ad networks, retargeting platforms, or social media tracking pixels. No third party can serve ads based on your CheckoutFirst activity.

Analytics tools we use

What Google Analytics and Firebase Analytics collect and why.

Section 4

Analytics help us understand which features work well and which need improvement.

Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (Measurement ID: G-Y1P8WY4QT1) to collect aggregated data about how visitors use the site. This includes:

  • Pages visited and time spent on each page.
  • General location (country or region, not your exact address).
  • Device type, browser, and operating system.
  • How you arrived at the site (for example, a direct link or a search).
  • Events such as signing up, starting a checkout, or completing a purchase. These are logged without personally identifiable information where possible.

Google Analytics stores data on Google's servers. Google's privacy policy governs how Google handles that data. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (available from Google).

Firebase Analytics

Firebase Analytics (part of Google Firebase) collects similar event data, such as sign-up completions and checkout progression steps. It shares the same Google infrastructure as GA4 and is subject to the same opt-out mechanism.

What we do with analytics data

  • Identify pages or flows that are confusing or broken.
  • Understand which product types and features are most used.
  • Measure the performance of platform improvements.
We do not sell analytics dataAnalytics data is used only for internal platform improvement. It is never sold, rented, or shared for marketing purposes.

Your controls

How to manage, limit, or delete cookies.

Section 5

You are in control of the cookies on your device.

Browser settings

You can view, block, or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Most browsers have a privacy or security section where you can manage this.

  • Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from logging in or using checkout.
  • Clearing localStorage will reset your saved formula workspace and UI preferences.
  • Blocking analytics cookies will stop Google Analytics from tracking your visits. The rest of the site will continue to work normally.

Opt out of Google Analytics

To opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites you visit, install the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on from Google's website.
